How to Have the Life You Always Wanted

I’ve lived a nice life, had good jobs, made enough money to sustain but… I wasn’t fully satisfied. I desired more. So, I set out on a journey of self discovery. During my journey I decided that it was time to not only create, but begin living, the life that I desired for myself, and my family.

I’ve learned a few things along the way that will help you begin your own journey toward creating, and living, a life that you desire and deserve!

Unless you’re an alien, you most likely have experiences, people, emotions, and/or mindsets that are holding you back from moving forward. If you want to life the life you desire, how are you going to move forward if you’re still holding on to what happened in another lifeThey say that the first step to recovery is acknowledging the problem. This is your rehab. What are you sticking to in this life that is holding you back from obtaining the life you’ve always wanted. Perhaps it’s insecurity, fear, financial concerns, emotional scars from the past, etc. Acknowledge what is holding you back and don’t allow it to imprison you one moment more.

Once you’re able to pinpoint the issues, it’s time to work through them. If this scares you, it’s working! If you haven’t already, find a coach to help you work on your mindsets in order to claim the life you deserve.Working through what is restraining you, will release you, and allow you to spread your wings. Success isn’t always built on experience, it’s built through confidence. Realign your thoughts with the help of a coach!

As you’re working through your mental space, consider clearing out your physical space, as well. This can be your home, office,  car, medicine cabinet,  garage, unpacked boxes or even simply making the bed each morning. The work we do in our head, and our hearts, also needs to be reflected in our lives. Take inventory of your relationships. Do you have friends who speak negatively a lot? Begin to listen to the people around you. You’ll quickly see the gap between where you’re heading and where someone else is sitting. Are there people in your life who aren’t determined to live a life they desire? Begin to surround yourself with like-minded people. When you’re about to take flight, you don’t need extra baggage weighing you down, my friend.

Un-cluttering our lives can often leave us feeling socially naked – or actually naked if you un-cluttered your closet a little too much… As you begin your ascent (catching onto this flying metaphor?) you’ll want, and need, all the support you can get. Seek daily inspirations from your coach, spouse, significant other, best friend, family member orcommunity group. We all have our person in life – as long as they are supporting you and your journey, reach out to them for support. Those who truly love you will not only want to see you succeed, and achieve the life you desire, but they’ll help you get there! Share what you’re learning and ask for what you need, when you need it. As Ashton Kutcher once told me, “I don’t think I accomplished anything in my life that wasn’t in partnership or collaboration.”

You’re entering into a whole new world (Cue Aladdin). Get on that carpet and take a ride, sister! There will be times when you aren’t sure where to go or what to do next. But, I’ll tell you this much… keep moving. My coach always says, “Doing big things requires a little bit of crazy.” So, when you feel like you’re talking to someone in your support system and they’re looking at you with a blank face, smile and embrace your crazy. You’re off on an amazing journey toward living the life that you desire and deserve!

Living the life you desire is never out of reach. If you’re ready to live the life you’ve always wanted and begin the journey toward becoming empowered, happy and passionate then all you have to do is take a leap of faith. You have  the ability to be great so let’s get you the tools you’ll need in order to get to living the life you desire, now.
